Job Title: Primary Classroom Teacher (Early Years or Key Stage 1)

Reporting to: Head of Year


Key Areas of Responsibility


Teaching and Learning

•        We are looking to appoint experienced, enthusiastic and outstanding classroom practitioners for August 2024.

•        We believe that every student requires more than academic skills to succeed, and we cultivate academic excellence through holistic education which focuses on the whole child.

•        Candidates should demonstrate an interest in current educational research and be passionate about providing child-centred learning experiences through investigation, inquiry and the use of conceptual learning.

•        They should have experience of providing learning environments that inspire curiosity and creativity, promoting open-ended inquiry and individualised learning experiences.

•        It is desirable for candidates to have experience of the Reggio Emilia approach, and to have used the principles to inspire their own practice.

•        Candidates should be reflective practitioners, who have high expectations for their own practice and continuously strive for excellence in teaching and learning. 

•        Candidates should be able to monitor student progress over time, tracking individual growth and development, and respond accordingly in line with our school assessment and feedback policies.

•        Contribute to the relevant sections of the school’s evaluation and improvement documentation

•        Attend and participate in regular CPD sessions, with a commitment to ongoing professional learning.

 

The successful candidate must:

•        Have a minimum of 2 years full-time teaching experience. 

•        Have a pioneering attitude and a good sense of humour.

•        Have an excellent knowledge of teaching the UK National Curriculum/ EYFS framework, as well as having a strong understanding of their delivery and assessment. 

•        Have experience of an inquiry, concept-based approach to curriculum planning and teaching. 

•        Be able to provide a happy, stimulating, safe learning environment for all children and to expect high standards of individual excellence from all. 

•        Build positive relationships with all stakeholders of our school community

•        Have the interpersonal skills needed to work collaboratively within teams. 

•        Ensure monitoring, recording, assessment and reporting are undertaken in line with our school policies.

•        Have an advanced ability to use technology to support and enhance learning within the classroom in a 1-to-1 device environment.

•        Create and maintain an effective partnership with parents and staff to support and improve students’ achievement and personal development. 

•        Be a reflective, flexible practitioner with the ability to think creatively and take risks. 

•        Be committed to their own professional development and strive to continually improve learning throughout the school.
