Job overview

Contract Term: 2-Years Renewable

Due to an increase in student numbers, Saigon Star International School seeks a fully-qualified teacher to fill a full-time teaching position.

About the school

The school delivers the English National Curriculum, as well as the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and International Primary Curriculum (IPC). We currently offer education for children aged 2-12 and plan to grow into a full middle school and high school in the very near future, whilst maintaining our small class sizes of between 16-18 students.

The school itself is located in a leafy and quiet residential area of Ho Chi Minh City, only 15 minutes drive from the vibrant city centre. The campus is full of greenery with a serene and peaceful atmosphere. Our aim is to provide a learning environment in which all children feel safe, happy and content. We have spacious classrooms, enviable student-to-teacher ratios, and deliver individualised learning programs as necessary. We believe that every child learns differently and one size does not fit all. If you like the idea of school as a family instead of a corporation, you’ll fit right in with us.

Who should apply?

The ideal candidate will be a team player who is ready to adapt their established skills to the cultural expectations of an exciting and growing international school in Ho Chi Minh City. We have high expectations of our staff and we are looking for teachers who are willing to go the extra mile in all areas of school life. Our school has a strong sense of community and family spirit, so the ideal candidate will have excellent inter-personal skills and the ability to work closely with our enthusiastic and supportive parents.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated, dynamic and creative teacher who would like the opportunity to work in an energetic school. A flexible approach and a willingness to adapt are essential. To work overseas is a tremendous experience in its own right. To be part of a developing school, to help shape it, build its reputation and make it a success is, we believe, a great opportunity.

If you are interested in living and working in a vibrant Vietnamese city, and believe you can help us to achieve our aims, then we would like to hear from you.

Candidates must hold Qualified Teacher Status and have a minimum of 3 years teaching experience.

Start Date: 6th August, 2018
Contract Type: Full-time
Contract Term: 2 Years (renewable)
Deadline for Applications: Interested parties are encouraged to apply at their earliest convenience. For the right candidate, the school reserves the right to hold interviews and make a job offer before the advert expires.

The full package includes an end-of-contract bonus, accommodation allowance, health insurance, annual flights, free lunch and a fee exemption for teachers’ children. Further details will be discussed at interview.
