Job overview

Are you a creative and inspiring primary practitioner?

We currently have a vacancy for a creative arts specialist to continue the development of our creative arts provision throughout our primary academy. You will be accountable for the planning and delivery of your subject specialism within the academy and will provide guidance and support to other teachers where needed. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is a skilled arts practitioner and who wants to contribute to our drive to ensure a high level of achievement by the children.

We would welcome applications from candidates with strength in music, dance or drama – or perhaps a combination of all 3!

The role will involve:

• Teaching music, dance or drama across the primary phase

• Teaching alongside the staff to develop their knowledge and skills;

• Developing extra-curricular opportunities in music, dance or drama;

• Nurturing talent and finding opportunities for performance and development

We are looking for someone who:

Has the knowledge and skills to develop the arts curriculum to a high level;

Is enthusiastic about giving children the opportunity to develop their skills to a level beyond that of normal primary expectations.

Has a proven good record as classroom practitioner in their specialist area

Is willing to lead extra-curricular opportunities and opportunities for performance.

This role is for a part-time teacher but the number of days have been left open for discussion depending on the ideal candidate. This post does not have a class responsibility, but has teaching commitments across the primary phase.

We can offer you:

A unique opportunity to specialise and develop your expertise and to be a model of excellence to others.

The chance to work in a new state of the art learning environment

Opportunities to develop further networks within the arts.

The chance to be part of a growing academy trust.

This position offers exciting opportunities to join a dynamic, vibrant Academy that is proud to be part of the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT).

To find out more about the post and the future vision for the Academy as it expands, please arrange a visit or ask to speak to our principal, Hannah Quinn. Please contact Helen Buckley (Office Manager) 01733 852400 hbuckley@westtownprimary.org.

For application details visit our website at www.westtownprimary.org or www.TES.com.

The closing date for applications is 9am on Tuesday 21st May 2019.

Interviews will be held on Friday 24th May 2019 with the anticipated start date of September 2019.
