Do you believe that every child deserves to enjoy and succeed in mathematics, regardless of their background? Are you ready for a professional development opportunity where you will impact dozens of schools and hundreds of pupils?

Mathematics Mastery is an innovative programme that aims to transform mathematics education in the UK. We work in partnership to empower and equip over 360 schools to deliver world-class mathematics teaching. Our team are primary and secondary teachers and others passionate about our mission.

The role

Due to expansion, we are seeking an outstanding primary teacher to join us as a Primary Development Lead. The post is available to start in September 2017, or earlier. You will be based in our new offices in Borough, Central London, although some travel will be required.

You will work directly with schools across the UK to support the implementation of the Mathematics Mastery programme, and develop our training materials and teaching resources for partner schools.

Key responsibilities:

  • Create and revise curriculum and professional development materials.
  • Support a portfolio of schools to implement the programme, including carrying out school development visits and providing advice and training.
  • Identify and research best practice to continually improve our approach.
  • Plan and deliver training for teachers and school leaders.
  • Take responsibility for an agreed area of the team’s work.

We are a fast-growing organisation and the role offers great scope for professional development for the right candidate.

Mathematics Mastery is a non-profit organisation, dedicated to transforming mathematics education in the UK.

Based on international evidence and practice, our school improvement programme aims to enhance pupils' enjoyment, resilience, understanding and attainment in mathematics.

Originally established as an Ark venture, Mathematics Mastery was founded by Dr Helen Drury - a pioneer of teaching and learning for mastery in UK schools.

Mathematics Mastery has a vision for all children to enjoy and succeed in maths, regardless of background. We believe in high-quality, maths-focused professional development for teachers can make this happen.

Launching within a small group of schools in 2012, the programme has grown to work with hundreds of schools across the country.
