Job overview

We are seeking to appoint an inspiring and motivated Primary/Elementary School Teacher to fill a maternity leave position starting September 2024. While likely non-residential, the ideal candidate should exude the optimism needed to integrate into a boarding environment and contribute positively to the Junior School atmosphere. Above all, we're seeking someone with a passion for cultivating a love for learning and who can bring boundless enthusiasm to their teaching.

The current post is for Grade 1 (UK Year 2/US grade 1) and candidates must have a proven track record in teaching KS1 English and Maths. The role will also include the teaching of IPC, Phonics, Sport and Forest School;  experience of teaching in these areas is desirable but not essential.  


PRINCIPAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • To be a Primary specialist, able to promote a love of learning and create dynamic and engaging lessons 
  • To facilitate learning by establishing a relationship with pupils and creating an effective and stimulating learning environment 
  • To work as part of a team, reviewing and developing the curriculum and producing resources and schemes of work to support learning for the full ability range 
  • To be able teach across the full primary age range 
  • To enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the School through sharing resources and good practice, lesson observations, collaborative teaching, mentoring and active participation in continuing professional development 
  • To contribute to our boarding provision through weekly duties and a contribution to the broader life of the school

UK APPLICANTS

UK nationals should be aware that regulations to obtain a work permit are both  lengthy and considerably tighter for third-state (such as UK) nationals than they are for most Europeans. Although it is possible that we will appoint a UK national,  preference will be given to candidates possessing a Swiss residence permit or an EU/EFTA passport.
