Primary Maths, English and Intervention Teacher — September 2018
Required from September 2018, a high quality, motivated and enthusiastic Primary Trained teacher to teach Key Stage Three English and Maths and improve the literacy and numeracy skills of students across years 7,8 & 9. Typically these are students who may need additional teaching, support and guidance in order to reach standards to allow them to access the wider secondary curriculum. This is a brand new role to the school. Therefore, the successful candidate will be integral in the development of the post alongside the Teaching and Learning Leaders for English and Mathematics, the school’s SENDCo and the Progress Leader for Year 6/7. The Park Community School is currently an 11-16 mixed comprehensive Co-operative Trust Foundation School but currently consulting on being a member of a newly formed Primary and Secondary Multi Academy Trust. Over the last 10 years it has benefited from an extensive building programme developing an effective learning environment set in extensive parkland on the outskirts of the town. General Information: The three areas of English, Mathematics and SEND are strong and key departments within our School. They are all fully on-board with the school focus on Teaching & Learning with staff making regular contributions to departmental and whole school CPD. The successful candidate will be expected to teach Mathematics and English across years 7-9. In addition, they will be able to create, prepare and deliver high impact interventions to improve the literacy and numeracy skills for students who are not able to fully access the secondary curriculum or to support them in life after school.
