The Directors of Community Academies Trust wish to appoint an outstanding and inspirational leader. Due to open in September 2017, Heathcote Primary School is a new ‘free school’ serving a rich and diverse community, and will provide an outstanding education, where children will thrive in its caring, exciting, and inspirational learning environment.

The Community Academies Trust currently comprises of eight primary schools, five secondary schools and two National Teaching Schools. We are driven by a desire to lead rather than follow, and to be beacons of outstanding local provision, which our community can rely on for the excellent education we provide for our children. We have a proven track record of achieving success and our new school will be supported by expertise and support from across the trust.

This role would ideally suit an ambitious senior leader, Deputy Headteacher or serving Headteacher looking for an exciting and unique opportunity to open and form a brand new school. Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate the following

  • In line with the CAT ethos, an ability to develop a vision for the school and the ability to inspire, enthuse and motivate others;
  • Possess drive and ambition for all children to achieve the highest standards;
  • Able to develop an innovative curriculum which excites and inspires;
  • Be committed to children enjoying and engaging in their learning whilst being challenged;
  • Be an outstanding teacher which models best practice in all areas with the ability to ensure those standards are replicated throughout the school;
  • Be a strong leader with interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community;
  • Be able to develop inspiring leaders at all levels;
  • Possess the knowledge, skills and expertise to develop smooth effective systems to ensure the school operates highly efficiently and making the most of resources, environment etc. ensuring the focus is on great learning; and
  • Have an excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
