We now have a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring and creative Teacher to join our close-knit team at Belmont School in Rossendale.

About the Role:


The Head teacher is seeking to appoint an aspiring Instructor to join this thriving specialist SEMH School. Responsible to Deputy Head teacher for the delivery of the ‘Computing’ and ‘Cooking &Nutrition Curriculum’. You will be an enthusiastic, flexible and determined individual who shares our values and is looking to develop their career in this specialist area. 


Who we are looking for?


We are looking for a qualified Teacher with experience of delivering the Computing and Cooking & Nutrition Curriculum. Whilst experience within an SEMH/SEN specialist provision would be desirable we will consider applications from those who are currently working in a mainstream or college setting.


Training and development will be provided for the successful candidate in line with the identified needs of the school, the skills of the individual and their prospective career progression. 


Key Accountabilities:


Adapt the schemes of work and teach well-structured lessons.

To resources the curriculum areas and manage a small budget.

Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to pupils’ needs in order to motive them.

Know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas you teach,

Work with children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs and the resultant behavioural difficulties, in order to help them overcome the difficulties they are experiencing in their education.

 Manage behaviour effectively to ensure a good and safe working environment

Essential Criteria:


Experience of teaching KS1 and KS2

A dedicated work ethic to ensure the needs of all pupils

Is passionate about making learning effective and enjoyable

DBS cleared and satisfactory references

Ability to work on own initiative
