Location:  Belmont Primary School, Rossendale, BB4 7LJ
Hours:      37.5 hours per week | Monday–Friday 
Salary:      £25,341.12 per annum (not pro rata)
Contract:  Fixed term - April 2027  | Term Time Only
Start:        September 2026

At Belmont Primary School, we're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Primary Instructor to join our specialist team. This is an exciting opportunity to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, delivering engaging learning experiences that build confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning.

Working closely with our Executive Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team and wider multidisciplinary team, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where every child feels valued, supported and able to succeed.

What you'll be doing

• Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of every pupil.

• Adapt learning activities and schemes of work to maximise engagement, confidence and progress.

• Inspire pupils through high-quality teaching that develops both academic achievement and personal growth.

• Build positive, trusting relationships that help children overcome barriers to learning.

• Create a calm, safe and nurturing classroom where pupils feel motivated to achieve.

• Assess, monitor and celebrate pupil progress, using assessment to inform future learning.

• Use positive behaviour strategies to promote emotional regulation, independence and resilience.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, pastoral teams and families to ensure every pupil receives the support they need.

• Contribute to the wider life of the school and help shape an exceptional learning experience for every child.

• Safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils, ensuring their wellbeing remains at the heart of everything you do.

What you will bring

We're looking for someone who:

• Holds GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above (or equivalent).

• Has experience working within an SEMH, SEN, primary, mainstream or college setting.

• Is passionate about helping children with additional needs achieve their full potential.

• Is calm, patient, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils.

• Can inspire, motivate and engage children through creative and adaptable teaching approaches.

• Is a proactive team player who enjoys working collaboratively with colleagues.

• Is committed to continuous professional development and developing a career within specialist education.

• Shares our commitment to inclusion, high expectations and making a lasting difference to the lives of young people.

Belmont Primary School is an Independent School which offers boys aged between 5 – 11 years who have Social and Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) challenged and additional complex behaviours to access a tailored education that suits their needs.
