Job overview
Gatehouse School is looking to appoint a highly motivated primary teacher. The ideal applicant will be an enthusiastic and talented primary practitioner who would enjoy teaching a range of subjects to their form. You will be expected to have a good knowledge of the primary curriculum and a firm commitment to supporting all of our children who have such a positive attitude towards school. In return you will benefit from being part of a passionate and dynamic team of teachers in a happy environment where learning is fun. Initially you will be teaching English to two year 3 classes and one year 4 group before the school introduces a more class teacher based approach in year 3 once our new classrooms are completed.
This is also an extremely exciting time to join our school as we are committed to considerable investment in our facilities with the construction of twelve new classrooms and a state of the art performance studio. Currently a two form entry school, we will be adding an additional class to each year group from September 2017.
Gatehouse School, which is part of the Phyllis Wallbank Educational Trust, is a flourishing, non-selective, independent school in the heart of the East End. We are proud of our inclusive and friendly ethos which sets out to provide the best education possible for children, establishing a modern outlook on primary education while ensuring that it retains the key values on which it was first founded. Our exam results are excellent and the school was recently ranked 33rd in the Times Top 100 Prep Schools.
The successful applicant will benefit from being part of a professional, supportive staff team as well as a competitive salary package which will be discussed at interview. This is an excellent opportunity for a creative and committed teacher to join our highly successful school which was rated as outstanding during our 2011 ISI inspection.
Visits to the school are encouraged and the staff and children look forward to welcoming you.
