Primary Learning Support Teacher

KIS is recruiting a learning support teacher who has a keen interest in working with students with mild special educational needs in a mainstream classroom setting. 

Primary Learning Support Teacher responsibilities:

• Work closely with teaching assistants to monitor the class schedule
• Design, develop, review and evaluate student support strategies and plans
• Work with students individually or in small groups to revise lesson materials
• Organize and conduct in-class and pull-out support sessions for students
• Create and implement Individual Educational Programmes (IEP) for students
• Document student progress and provide regular communication with staff and parents
• Organize and attend regular student support and IEP meetings, Parent Teacher Conferences and staff meetings
• Provide SEN-related staff training and support programmes
• Attend regular professional development training courses

The specialist teacher must:

• Hold a Bachelor Degree in Education or Bachelor Degree with a recognized teaching qualification (PGDE / PGCE or equivalent)
• Hold a recognized qualification for SEN 
• Be a passionate and outstanding SEN classroom practitioner
• Have a minimum of 3 years’ relevant working experience 
• Experience with the English National Curriculum preferred
• Strong English written and verbal skill
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skill
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with staff, parents and external professionals
• Have the ability to work closely with and lead teaching assistants
• Have the ability to motivate, support and inspire students, staff, parents and carers 
• Have the experience in developing and implementing student support plans and IEP programmes
