Job overview

Are you ready to share your passion for Maths across a group of schools?

We have 16 primary Academies across London plus 2 all-though Academies with primary phases. All of our Academies are judged to be 'Good' or 'Outstanding'.

This is a rare opportunity for an excellent Mathematics Leader who would like to further develop their leadership and teaching experience to impact on the quality of mathematics education in Harris Federation Primary Academies. The successful candidate will work with our other primary consultants developing and supporting our teachers to become exemplary classroom practitioners.

The role involves coaching and mentoring, team teaching classes, modelling best practice, assisting in the recruitment and selection of outstanding teachers, developing CPD opportunities and leading training for senior staff in developing good teaching and learning strategies to further raise standards.

The London Thames Maths Hub, run by Harris Federation, provides a leadership role for maths education across the city. The successful candidate will have every opportunity to get involved in the work of the Maths Hub.

This is an opportunity for you to learn from working in a range of schools, to extend your understanding of different leadership and teaching approaches. There are many progression opportunities either to Senior Leadership roles within Harris Academies or within the central team.

Although based at the Harris Federation offices close to East Croydon Station (with fast access to central London and the M25) the role will mostly be located within the Academies.

If you would like to discuss the post in confidence please call Sabeena Hasan, Primary Regional Director, on 020 8253 7777.

The Harris Federation is a not-for-profit educational charity with almost 25 years of education experience in and around London. Our primary, secondary, all-through and sixth form academies have an international reputation for delivering a step change in education standards.

In joining a Harris Academy, you will be working with some of the country’s most exceptional teachers, support staff and leaders. There are frequent opportunities for internal exchange and promotion; our CPD is regularly described as Outstanding; and we have a package of staff benefits that rivals the most competitive of other professions.

Each Harris Academy is led and run by its senior leaders and has its own curriculum and way of doing things. What our Academies share, however, is a commitment to giving their children and teenagers an excellent education within a happy, caring and supportive environment.

There are Harris Academies in many different settings – inner city and suburban – but they are all within a maximum ninety minute commute from each other. This enables a highly collaborative structure, with on-call support from the Harris Federation.

You can find out more on our website (www.harrisfederation.org.uk) or by following us on Twitter (@HarrisFed).
