What is Mangahigh? 

Mangahigh is a digital resource that is trusted by more than 5 000 schools across the world for teaching mathematics in a blended environment. Our strengths include exceptional content and the ability to engage, motivate and positively influence students of all abilities to learn mathematics using game­-based methods.

Our team comprises developers, game designers and mathematicians, including Marcus du Sautoy, who chairs our advisory board.

What is the Primary Maths Specialist’s role?

We have hundreds of school mathematics resources that are adaptive, curriculum-aligned and that build students’ conceptual understanding. With advancements in technology, it is time for us to take this content to a whole new level. 

We are looking for an experienced and highly-skilled educationalist to design and create new content for our very youngest players (K–1/Years 1–2). You will join a content team consisting of both consultants and in-house staff based at our head office in London. You will collaborate with our developers and designers to ensure that our content is of the highest international standard and that it meets the needs of our global customers.

Specific tasks

  • Contribute to an innovative and pedagogically sound vision for Mangahigh's early years content.
  • Plan mathematics activities to meet curriculum requirements.
  • Collaborate with developers and designers to create tools and mechanics for producing and interacting with mathematics content.
  • Author/populate activities with content.
  • QA completed activities and support user testing.
  • Map content appropriately to various international curricula, including the US, Brazil, Germany, India and Australia.

Essential skills

  • Education qualification e.g. Higher Diploma or MEd, with at least 5 years of teaching experience
  • Exceptional fluency in English
  • Demonstrable experience creating mathematics resources, preferably for commercial publishers
  • Contemporary expertise in effective mathematics pedagogy
  • Outstanding educator
  • Excellent time management
  • Keen eye for detail
  • Confidence working in a technology-rich environment (the ability to write code is not necessary)
  • A desire to change the face of mathematics education on a global scale, particularly in disadvantaged environments
  • Adaptable, and comfortable with new challenges
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team 

Preferred skills

  • Familiarity with the Common Core State Standards (CCSS)
  • Experience working with multiple curricula
  • Fluency in a second language
  • Coding experience
  • The ability to manage projects effectively, within given timeframes
