Queensbridge Primary School

We are looking for a dynamic non class based music teacher to join our team at Queensbridge Primary School – an outstanding, 2 form entry primary school with a track record of offering a challenging, fun and inclusive music curriculum.

You will lead music lessons across the school, teaching EYFS, KS1 and KS2, and in our ARP. This will include singing, instrumental teaching and creative sessions. You will lead music assemblies, concerts and musical performances. You will also lead music sessions at Mapledene Children’s Centre, including day care and family groups.

The music lead also oversees the extra-curricular activities such as our two school choirs, orchestra and rock band. You will also be responsible for organising instrumental lessons with our six visiting tutors.

We can offer you:

·        A welcoming and friendly staff team

·        A school committed to high standards and an inclusive, anti-racist agenda

·        A school that values music and creativity

·        Enthusiastic, happy and attentive pupils who have had regular music lessons since starting at Queensbridge

·        A well-resourced music room with whole-class sets of ukuleles, recorders and tuned percussion instruments

·        Opportunities to develop music provision by building on a strong existing curriculum

·        Two school choirs, an orchestra and a rock band

·        Six visiting instrumental tutors and links with Hackney Music Service

You will:

·        Have experience of teaching music to children of different ages

·        Be able to play at least one instrument confidently, preferably guitar or piano

·        Have experience of leading ensembles

·        Work with other staff members in providing musical activities

·        Be committed to helping all children to achieve their potential

·        Continue to arrange trips and visits to inspire our pupils in their music

·        Direct school concerts and productions

·        Have a ‘can-do’ attitude in order to deliver exciting projects

·        Be organised and hard-working

·        Make music lessons fun!
