We are looking to appoint a Primary Music Teacher with the capacity to teach from Early Years to Key Stage 2. Candidates should have the ability to apply a range of teaching strategies that inspire, motivate and encourage children to want to learn music. The ideal candidate will have an ambitious vision for music engagement and excellence, detailed knowledge of the UK National Curriculum, as well as a commitment to the pursuit of excellence in education standards and quality and the ability to enhance musical creativity, imagination, interest and most importantly, enjoyment, in all children.
The Music Department at Doha College work with a through-school, holistic approach to the curriculum and as such, the ethos and vision of the department centres around collaboration, creative thinking and the delivery of inspirational lessons. The Director of Music works across the school, with colleagues, to ensure a seamless transition between the Key Stages. The confident delivery of Early Years music teaching is preferable and is also an area of desired growth within the Department. The ideal candidate would bring with them a range of fresh and inspiring initiatives. The Music Department seeks to appoint a Primary Music Teacher who thinks creatively, is passionate to bring forth new and exciting pathways for learning, alongside an ability to deliver more traditional modalities.
The burgeoning department is also has a healthy series of events, concerts, productions, recitals and performances throughout the year. As such, Grade 8 or equivalent on your main instrument is also preferred, in addition to strong keyboard skills, in order to accompany choirs and ensembles. The ideal candidate would also be expected to lead and manage a range of extra-curricular activities and contribute to the musical life of the school and wider community.
As a Primary Music Teacher, you will be responsible for teaching music lessons, monitoring and evaluating student achievement and contributing to the accomplishment of Doha College’s vision and mission.
