Dover Court International School
Established since 1972, Dover Court International School in Singapore is one of the leading inclusive British international schools in South East Asia.
The school currently caters to students from age 3 to age 17 in the mainstream, having introduced the IB Diploma Programme in August 2017. The curriculum is based upon the UK EYFS framework, the National Curriculum for England, the IPC and IGCSE/GCSE. The school is active in the local International School sports league and are extremely competitive across a number of sports. The school has an extensive programme of residential trips starting in Year 4 and continuing up into the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award. All students are involved in a wide range of after school activities mainly run by teaching staff. About 10% of our students are supported by the Department of Supportive Education (DSE) – our integrated SEN unit and we have numerous Challenge activities, both in and out of the classroom to ensure children of all abilities are pushed to achieve their ambitious goals.
Staff are well supported with weekly CPD sessions run in-house and access to external training courses where they fit the school and personal development plans. There is a strong ethos of professional collegiality. In-house CPD is supported by access to Nord Anglia University, the NAE portal for staff and access to external courses through partnerships in Singapore, our membership or the organisations listed below or other 3rd party providers.
As well as being authorised by the IBO to deliver the IBDP, we are members of the Federation of British Schools in Asia (FOBISIA) and the Council of International Schools (CIS). We begin the process of CIS accreditation early next year. We were recently shortlisted for the British International Schools Award 2018.
