Job overview

Are you ready for the next step …?   We are looking for talented professionals to join our team and work within our three primary schools. Our schools currently have vacancies for NQTs, experienced teachers and middle leaders (TLR posts) from September 2017.

Hillcrest Academy was the first school to join The GORSE Academies Trust in January 2014 as an inadequate school; it was judged to be outstanding in all areas in September 2016.  Ofsted recognised that: ‘the impact of The GORSE Academies Trust in transforming a long-standing legacy of underachievement had been remarkable.’

The GORSE Academies Trust has an increasingly well-known reputation for changing the deal for children and young adults who come from some of the most impoverished parts of the country. Our central mission is to ensure that our children receive an outstanding education that focuses on aspiration, high expectations and personalisation.

Do you want to be part of our team and make a real difference to the lives of children in Leeds?

Early Years, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 roles are available across our three primary schools:

Hillcrest Academy: www.hillcrest.leeds.sch.uk
Morley Newlands Academy: www.morleynewlands.leeds.sch.uk
Ryecroft Academy: www.ryecroft.leeds.sch.uk

If you are newly qualified you will receive dedicated non-contact time, the support of an experienced mentor and opportunities to observe good and outstanding practice; we want you to make the most of your NQT year!

As an experienced teacher, you will be able to access professional development to meet your professional needs and continue to develop your practice.

If you are an aspiring leader, we will support you in your development.  We are committed to identifying potential and talent and growing future leaders!  This could include exciting opportunities at our new Primary Free School which we hope to open in September 2018.

Are you interested in finding out more and telling us about yourself? If so, we would like to invite you to meet us on Friday 24th February from 9.00am or Monday 27th February from 3.30pm at Hillcrest Academy, Cowper Street, Leeds, LS7 4DR

If you would like any further information about the roles or our schools, please contact Mark Randall, Director of Primary Education: mark.randall@hillcrest.leeds.sch.uk

Values and vision

Hillcrest Academy seeks to ensure that every pupil receives a high-quality education regardless of background. To this end, the school highly values its investment in extra-curricular activities and an interesting and relatable curriculum. Parents are encouraged to play a large role in their child’s education, in order to foster a sense of community and responsibility.

With such a diverse intake of pupils, tolerance and diversity are of paramount importance to the primary school, and pupils are encouraged to have respect for different faiths and belief systems.

Ofsted report

Pupils leave Hillcrest Academy reaching standards from very low starting points that are close to those achieved by other pupils nationally. They are very well prepared for the next stage of their education. Every lesson counts at Hillcrest Academy. Teachers are relentless in supporting every pupil to reach their full potential.
