The profile 

We are looking for:

  • Qualified teacher with a current teaching license/registration plus a Bachelor’s degree and teaching qualification. 
  • Enthusiastic, committed, team-player, willing to go the extra mile for students and colleagues.

Main duties:

  • Keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning.
  • Monitor progress and effectiveness of class work and evaluate and modify as necessary.
  • Provide a stimulating classroom environment for effective teaching and learning. 
  • Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Report to parents on the development, progress and attainment of students.
  • Maintain good order and discipline amongst students, in accordance with the school’s behaviour policies.
  • Mentorship of your class is included in this position as well.

About Internationella Engelska Skolan Enskede

International English School Enskede (IESE) is the founding school within the IES organisation. IESE is an independent secondary school with grades 4-9 which was started in 1998 by Mrs. Barbara Bergström. The school consists currently of over 900 students and 70 members of staff. Both staff and students come from all over the world bringing interesting knowledge, experience and possibilities into the school. The school is beautifully located in Stockholm with easy access to the town center. 

At Internationella Engelska Skolan Enskede we have high academic ambitions and offer a safe learning and working environment, where respect for each other permeates the whole school. Our school is a place where teachers can teach and students can learn. We follow the Swedish curriculum but the teaching language is English. 

Apart from our strong school ethos and work in an international environment, we also offer limited teaching time (18 h) of regulated teaching time, development workshops provided by senior teachers, Swedish lessons for all international staff, team-building activities and competitions, free pedagogical lunches, fresh fruit, full access to our staff gym, wellness and health sponsorship.

The school follows the Swedish curriculum which includes grades on a scale from A-F in year groups 6 to 9. Groups 4-5 are given grade-like evaluations on the same scale. The school offers IGCSE exams from Cambridge University for students in year groups 8-9. 

Internationella Engelska Skolan i Enskede works hard to provide every pupil with a first-class education; students and their futures must always come first.
