The successful candidate will teach a variety of subjects in the Junior School, with a focus on English and an emphasis on promoting the holistic development of our students. The role will involve teaching across different subject areas, in alignment with the Cambridge International Curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach a variety of subjects following the Cambridge International Curriculum, with a focus on English language and literacy.
- Develop and deliver engaging lessons that promote both academic and personal development.
- Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
- Differentiate lessons to accommodate the diverse learning needs of all students, ensuring each child can reach their full potential.
- Regularly assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve.
- Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement cross-curricular activities and projects.
Encourage a love for learning by creating a dynamic, supportive, and nurturing classroom environment.
- Support the social, emotional, and personal development of students alongside their academic achievements.
- Provide pastoral care and ensure the well-being of students in line with school policies.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and events that promote student engagement and development.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A current TIE holder (“Tarjeta de Identidad de Extranjero”) or a passport holder from an EU country.
- Native English speaker or certified C2 level (CEFR).
- A minimum of two years of teaching experience in primary or junior education.
- Experience teaching in English, with an understanding of both the Cambridge International Curriculum and the National Curriculum.
- Strong understanding of child development and effective teaching strategies.
- Ability to integrate technology into lessons to enhance student learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to differentiate lessons to accommodate diverse learning needs.
- A commitment to continuous professional development.

Founded in 1969 by Linda Randell, The English Centre (El Centro Inglés) is located in Cádiz, Spain. The area of Cádiz is located on the country’s southwestern coast, and has a population of 124,000. The school campus spreads across 18,000 square metres, of which 7,500 is designated classroom space. School facilities include a music room, ICT Suites, laboratory and specialist classrooms, dining room, kitchen, tutorial rooms, reception, bar, indoor hall and assembly hall.
The English Centre is co-educational and secular, and students are taught between the ages of 2-18. The school hosts language immersion Summer Camps, courses abroad and in Language Centres. The Palabramos is a creative writing workshop for 10-18 year olds, and is unique for the Cádiz region. The English Centre identity is founded around the idea that ‘English is Fun’, and utilises modern teaching methods to continually improve language education.
