British International School of Timisoara (BIST) is looking for qualified Primary School teachers (Reception, Key Stage 1 and 2 specialists) to join our team in August 2019. NQT applications are welcome.

This is a unique opportunity for dedicated and passionate teachers who love being in the classroom and working with children, but also who wish to join us in building an innovative and exciting project which will soon become one of the best schools in Romania.

BIST is the first school with a British International curriculum established in the western part of Romania. The school will open its doors for the students with ages 4 to 13 years old (Reception to Year 9) in September 2019. The school will grow gradually and will implement the Cambridge IGCSE programme in KS4 and aims to offer the International Baccalaureate curriculum in KS5. The school has already applied for the COBIS accreditation and will have the first inspection in March 2020. 

Construction and renovation are underway for a spacious, state-of-the-art campus fit for a leading international school. Located in the northern part of the city, the campus can accommodate up to 600 students and is expected to reach its full capacity by 2021. The school benefits from a generous space of over 10,000 square meters with beautiful green areas.

As a Primary School teacher, you will work closely with the Head of Primary School to build a strong team and help fulfil the vision of the school.

The successful candidate will need to be a passionate teacher who has the drive and a keen desire to bring a significant contribution to the educational sector in this part of Romania.

  • Have good classroom management skills;
  • Have good communication skills;
  • Have high expectations of children and themselves;
  • Have strong subject knowledge and master a variety of teaching and assessment strategies;

  • Have a positive attitude and be solution oriented;  
  • Be keen to provide an engaging, stimulating and supporting learning environment.
