The SEND team for Vision for Education in Manchester are currently recruiting for teaching assistants comfortable working with primary aged pupils with challenging behaviour within alternative provisions across the Salford area.
This role will involve supporting education for pupils that present with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and therefore attend alternative provisions that are catered to providing a holistic approach to pupil's education and inspire them to achieve.
Candidates will be required to work on a flexible basis with pupils to build positive, professional relationships and help children overcome barriers to learning. Experience supporting the teaching of core subjects such as English, Maths, Science and Functional skills is desirable along with experience facilitating 1:1 or small nurture group interventions.
The right candidate will be personable and empathetic yet be able to motivate young people that have missed periods in their learning. It is paramount that candidates have an understanding of issues that can influence pupils within contemporary society.
