Summary

Canary Wharf College Trust is seeking to appoint an aspiring Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-Ordinator (SENDCO) to join our team on a permanent basis to work across our two primary schools. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced, talented and motivated SENDCO or a teacher with a keen interest in developing their career in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to make a meaningful impact on our students' learning journey.

In our multi-cultural school community, pupils are well-behaved and motivated with good discipline and supportive families. The staff team is creative and enthusiastic and has been providing a high standard of innovative education.

The school is part of a successful Multi-Academy Trust. Routines and collaborative working are embedded in our practice, but we constantly seek to improve our work and thus seek energetic innovators. The Trust welcomes staff and pupils from all faiths while operating within a Christian ethos. We are firmly committed to staff CPD at all levels.

Our schools are based in a quiet setting in the heart of the Isle of Dogs in Tower Hamlets, yet close to Mudchute, Island Gardens and Crossharbour DLR stations and central London. Or schools operate longer days, balanced by shorter terms.

Areas of Responsibility

The key areas of responsibility of the role will be:

  • Leadership in SEND
  • Individual Support Plans (ISPs)
  • Staff Support and Training
  • Liaison and Communication
  • Record Keeping and Compliance
