We are looking to appoint a passionate, enthusiastic Support Teacher to join the team here at BDA.

You will be instrumental in our mission to provide every student a great education and real choices in life, regardless of their background.

Our School

Ark Burlington Danes Academy is a superbly resourced, rapidly improving school with a rich history and high ambition. Our school was founded in 1699 and holds a special place in educational history as the first girls’ school in London; we are fortunate to maintain ongoing links with our alumni network. In 2006, we became the founding school of the Ark network. We are a Church of England non-selective, all-through comprehensive school serving our local community, in an area of significant social disadvantage.

The role

As a Support Teacher you will work within the Primary SEND team to support students, parents, and teachers to establish a supportive learning environment in which children with additional needs make accelerated academic progress to close the gap with non-SEND peers.

For more information about the role, please contact askhr@arkonline.org

Ark is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people in our academies. In order to meet this responsibility, we follow a rigorous selection process which will include questions about safeguarding. This process is outlined here, but can be provided in more detail if requested. All successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Curriculum

We believe that everyone deserves to be accepted, included and empowered to live a life that is purposeful and fulfilling. Our curriculum is a key driver of this vision and our Christian ethos. We place the curriculum at the heart of school life. It drives all other decisions that we make and is the best means we have of demonstrating as a school what we believe in and what we stand for. Our curriculum is a broad, balanced and equitable offer; built around the core disciplines of English, mathematics, science, humanities, languages and religious education. All subject areas prepare pupils for future study within their discipline, with mastery of core and foundation subjects ensuring pupils have choice later on in their education; as they specialise in key areas of study.  The curriculum in each subject area has been designed backwards from university study, through A-Level, GCSE, and into the Primary and Early Years phase to ensure students can reach their fullest potential.
