We provide the highest quality of childhood education and are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Primary Teacher. This role is essentially to inspire and empower young learners by delivering engaging and comprehensive instruction, fostering a positive learning environment, and nurturing their academic, social, and emotional growth in alignment with educational standards and school objectives. The successful candidate will be responsible for co-planning and delivery of our dual language program through the PYP framework. The role requires a Primary Teacher who speaks German fluently.

 

Key Accountabilities

• Developing and executing the preparation, planning, and delivering of child-centered learning activities for the children in class

• Using a range and balance of teaching strategies

• Being a facilitator in the classroom and taking interactive role with students

• Evaluate and assess student progress through ongoing observation, providing constructive feedback to students and parents

• Participate in school training sessions and parent-teacher meetings.

• Create a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere where every child feels respected and valued

• Ensuring the classroom environment is well-managed, properly ordered and neatly presented

 

Safeguarding Responsibilities

• To comply with safeguarding policies, procedures, and code of conduct

• To demonstrate a personal commitment to safeguarding and student/colleague wellbeing

• To engage in safeguarding training when required

• Act as a safe point of contact for students who may need to discuss issues of safety or wellbeing.

 

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid teaching certification for primary education

• Bachelor’s degree in education or any related field. 

• Possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills both orally and written English and German (fluent in German is a requirement).

• Good references on request

• Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents.

• Several years of experience teaching in Primary school environment

• Experience and understanding of the PYP framework are preferred but not essential

About International School, Zurich North (ISZN)

ISZN International School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational independent all-through school with sixth form in Switzerland, serving students from the age of 3-18. The all-through school is situated in Wallisellen, nearby to the city of Zurich.  It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

ISZN International School was established in 1999. The school offers an international curriculum taught in English, with pupils going on to sit IGCSE exams and A levels. Small class sizes are offered with a 1:8 teacher, student ratio. There are over 40 nationalities represented at the school. Facilities include a library, art room, science labs and access to a swimming pool at local sports centre.
