We have a fantastic opportunity at the Newtown Campus site (SY16 4EJ) for a full time, permanent, Primary Teacher.
You will be adept at coaching our students to see and lead through challenges in their learning, so they make the best possible progress in each and every lesson.
Key responsibilities:
- To ensure high quality teaching, effective use of resources and the highest standards of care, learning and achievement for all pupils
- To ensure the Self-Directed Learning philosophy of the school is present in the learning opportunities for students and planned into lessons, resources and student assignments.
- To develop and fully utilise assignments and tasks on the school virtual learning environment (Canvas) including homework, quizzes and discussion forums
- Use a wide range of resources and extracurricular activities to provide students with a broad range of activities and experiences in keeping with the School’s guidelines
- To set targets, based on prior attainment and undertake effective, informative marking and feedback which will extend and develop all students
- Work alongside teaching colleagues, and the Campus Principal, as a lead mentor and coach, ensuring the best possible progress for all children ensuring appropriate interventions and support are in place
- To plan effectively to ensure pupils have the opportunity to meet their potential, taking account of the needs of pupils who are under achieving or very able, and work in collaboration with the SENDCO to prepare, implement, monitor and review Individual Educational Plans
- To assess, record and monitor each pupil’s progress in line with the National Framework profile and report to parents
- To use teaching strategies that keep pupils engaged through effective questioning, lively presentation and good use of resources
- To create a safe and stimulating learning environment that supports learning and which pupils feel secure and confident
- To set high expectations for pupil behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline based on mutual respect and personal responsibility. To deal with inappropriate behaviour in the context of the school Mission Statement, Positive Behaviour Policy and Anti-Bullying Policy
- To have an up to date knowledge and understanding of the professional duties of teachers and the statutory framework within which you work
You will:
- Have an up to date knowledge of the KS2 National Curriculum and assessment framework and experience of teaching KS2
- Have experience of supporting students with SEND.
- Have Qualified Teacher Status / PGCE in Primary Education
- Have GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent, and Level 3 Qualifications
- Have good communication skills written and verbal.
- Ensure high standards are maintained, progressed and promoted in all areas of work.
- To set an example of positive personal integrity and professionalism, with positive, appropriate and effective communications and relationships at all levels
- Contribute to, share in and promote the wider and longer-term vision of OneSchool Global
- Uphold and promulgate the OSGUK ethos within all areas of responsibility
