KIBS is a growing international bilingual school consisting of a nursery, kindergarten, primary and secondary school. We are recognised by the state yet governed independently. We are a non-profit organisation. We offer a challenging and enriching education, underpinned by the flexible, inquisitive and academic German county curriculum but enhanced by teaching methods, materials and resources from a variety of international curricula, including the UK curriculum. Our teachers have the freedom to concentrate on educating the whole child by focussing on flexible and enquiring teaching and learning styles without the distraction of performance data and governmental targets. 

Mission Statement:

KIBS educates the whole child within our English and German immersion programme. We embrace new technologies to enhance the development of 21st century skills and prepare our students for their future working life as global citizens.

We educate students from Germany and across the world who call Hannover and its region their local community. 

We have created a safe environment with a modern, German and international curriculum featuring individual teaching and learning approaches. This inspires creativity and allows all students to progress. In our academic and pastoral systems, our well-trained, versatile staff members encourage a balance of academic, social and moral competences with a focus on emotional well-being.

KIBS believes that developing and nurturing all of our students’ talents is the key to prepare them for a constantly changing world. We would like to inspire our students to think and dream big by providing a stimulating and fun learning environment. 

We believe that being fluent in more than one language is essential to successfully navigate our multi-cultural, globalised world. Our immersion concept crafts bilingual and multi-lingual citizens who are able to explore the international world to their advantage. 

Together, we strive to change our world to be more open-minded and inclusive by openly celebrating each other’s differences and similarities. Our students are authentic role models for life-long learning and we cherish moral, social, academic and ethical values in equal measure. Our students will be equipped to embrace technological advancements safely and purposefully.  

Goals:

Curiosity counts.  At KIBS children explore their environment with their natural enthusiasm and make use of their own abilities, experiences and insights. Our teachers direct and engage them, capturing the full potential of our young people whilst nurturing them and helping them develop into confident, open-minded individuals. Our main concern is to further the uniqueness of each child and help them advance all areas of their personal and academic attributes.      

Curriculum:

We are a school working with German core curricula in-cooperating international methods, resources and thinking. Our students sit Cambridge Language Exams throughout their school career, from primary school up to A Level (Abitur). Have a look at our facebook page for up-to-date curriculum events. 

  

Location: 

Hanover is a vibrant city in the north of Germany. It has fantastic transport links to big cities across Germany, its own airport and a well-structured local and national tram, underground and train network. Cost of living in Hanover is not as high as in some of the main hubs such as Frankfurt, Hamburg or Munich. There is an expanding international community in Hanover and cultural and social events for a range of interests are happening throughout the year.
