A fantastic opportunity to work at Tower View Primary School has become available for an experienced and pro-active Teaching Assistant to join our Lower Key Stage 2 team.

The successful applicant must be a team player who can work collaboratively to nurture and support children to become the best that they can be. They must be kind, caring and patient and possess a resilient and positive personality. They must have excellent communication skills and demonstrate a good understanding of how children learn, to meet the needs of all pupils and collaborate with staff and parents to maximize the potential of learners. 

You will be working within the Key Stage 2 team, helping develop the pupils’ personalities and pushing their learning in all areas of the curriculum. Creativity and positivity are at the centre of teaching and learning at our school, and it focuses on encouraging individual contribution, resilience, empathy and aspiration from every child.

You will be assisting the whole class learning as well as occasionally leading whole class groups, teaching small groups or completing 1:1 sessions. The requirement to work with initiative, pro-actively and as part of a wider team are key skills we will be looking for in those applying for this position.

For this role, you will ideally need to:

  • have previous experience of working with Key Stage 2 aged (or upper key stage 1) children within a school setting.
  • have confidence in dealing with pupils with different abilities.
  • possess good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • be good at working as part of a wider team.
  • have up to date knowledge of ongoing assessment techniques, understanding of ongoing provision and a nurturing environment.
  • be able to work on your own with groups of children, directing and adapting lessons according to need and ongoing outcomes.
  • have good standards of numeracy and literacy.
  • enjoy working in a school environment.
  • be adaptable, flexible and resilient to the day to day rigours of school life.
  • Be able to work with early years aged children and meet the needs of such children.

Salary pro-rata range: £18886
