British College La Cañada looking to appoint an energetic and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who has the ability to inspire, nurture and support our well-motivated pupils.

British College La Cañada is a BSO inspected school and this is a great opportunity to join our happy and motivated team. 

We are looking for someone with a recognised qualification as Teaching Assistant or extensive experience in the schools, who enjoys working with children. Strong literacy and numeracy skills are essential and the ability to support with Spanish would be an advantage.

The ideal candidate will be a well organised practitioner who is able to use their own initiative and also be able to work as part of a team. You will be flexible in your approach, completely reliable and always enthusiastic and positive.

Having a good working knowledge of the National Curriculum in the Early would be a great advantage. Empathy and an ability to establish good working relationships with staff, parents and pupils are essential.

Necessary Experience:

• Good standard of education (GCSE English and Maths)

• Strong ICT skills

• The ability to take responsibility for small intervention groups and, on occasion, whole classes for short periods of time is required.


Desirable Experience:

• Previous experience as a TA

• Ability to assist with the teaching of Spanish

• Ability to run an after-school club

• Proven artistic/display ability


We have high expectations for all children and aim to create a happy and creative environment for all children to reach their full potential. We have recently celebrated our 10th anniversary as the school opened in September 2008, the school´s buildings and facilities are modern and well maintained; foundation stage classes have assistants in each class and access to outdoor areas.
