Position Requirements | • High level knowledge of the relevant key learning areas (K-6) and a proven capacity to improve student learning through effective assessment practices.
• Possess a deep knowledge and understanding of the philosophies and the pedagogical approaches of the Early Learning Framework and show ability to link the Framework to the NSW Syllabus documents to achieve best practice. • Must be able to demonstrate positive relationships with students, staff, parents and clergy to work effectively as a member of a team and collaborate with fellow Year 2 teachers • Demonstrated ability to use data effectively for student growth • Demonstrated capacity to reflect critically upon professional practice and commitment to ongoing professional learning. |

Essential Criteria | • be appropriately qualified as a four year trained primary teacher
• be a practising Catholic and be able to teach Religious Education • must have a sound understanding of and commitment to Catholic Education • applicants will need to comply with the Accreditation to Work Teach and Lead - formerly the Faith Education Accreditation (FEA) Policy 2012 and will need to work towards Accreditation at Category D – Accreditation to Teach Religion. • record current NESA and Working With Children number on application as well as Date of Birth. • evidence of completion of Anaphylaxis training certificate must be supplied. Curriculum
St Joseph’s delivers the seven Key Learning Areas in the Primary Catholic School Curriculum of New South Wales. These are Religious Education, English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, HSIE, Creative Arts and Personal Development, Health and Physical Education. Participation in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) lessons, as well as robotics and Minecraft, is encouraged.
St Joseph's provides an opportunity for pupils to excel in creative arts, including dance, visual arts, drama and music, as well as sports such as specialised gymnastic lessons, netball gala days and rugby, cricket and soccer clinics.
Students with special needs are provided with individual education programs.
