Description St Brigid's Primary School Raymond Terrace is seeking a temporary part-time (0.4 FTE) Primary Teacher to join the team for 2022.

St Brigid's Primary School, Raymond Terrace is located in the Hunter Region, a short 30-minute drive from Newcastle CBD and Port Stephens. A school of 386 students catering for K-6, St Brigid’s provides a place where the creative and individual talents of each student and teacher is greatly appreciated, embraced and encouraged. Our school has a strong focus on promoting physical activity and healthy living through all aspects of school life.
Position Requirements Teachers in a Catholic school have a unique role to play and are assigned with the task of ensuring each child has the opportunity to grow both academically and spiritually and to live purposeful lives.

The teacher will promote the school as a place of learning and excellence in accordance with contemporary evidence-based learning and wellbeing principles (including digital learning) and will ensure the ongoing development and implementation of pedagogical practices that impact on student learning outcomes.

Essential Criteria • Catholic, with the ability to articulate a personal commitment to Catholic Education (Primary and Religion Teachers only)

• Willingness to actively support the Catholic identity of the school

• Ability to apply appropriate knowledge in order to plan and prepare contemporary and compliant teaching programs and assessments in your nominated areas which meet the diverse characteristics, needs and learning styles of students; and encourage them to work towards attainment of their potential

• Demonstrated ability to effectively utilise assessment and relevant school data to optimise organisational and educational outcomes

• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with school staff and members of the wider community in order to establish productive partnerships and achieve educational outcomes

• Desire to contribute to the establishment of a staff wide culture of professional learning, reading and reflective practice

• Demonstrate an innovative and agile mindset that supports and enhances a culture of continuous improvement within the school environment

• Evidence of excellent organisational and administrative skills

• Willingness to Comply or Compliance with the CSO Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead Policy. Category B or D – Accreditation to Teach or Accreditation to Teach Religion.

• Qualifications as a four year trained teacher;

• Current NESA Accreditation;

• Current Paid Working with Children Check (WWCC) number;

• Completion of Anaphylaxis training;

• Proof of Covid vaccination status.

St Brigid's Primary School is located in the town of Raymond Terrace, 26 kilometres north of Newcastle. The co-educational Catholic school was founded in 1850, where at the time it was the only Catholic school in the area. The school caters for students from Kindergarten to Year 6 and has approximately 410 students currently enrolled.

The schools foundations are a mix of modern and heritage listed buildings, with new classrooms, school hall, kitchens and an extended library amongst the recent additions. The school also possesses a large creative playground and cubby house, school oval and indigenous culture garden.

Curriculum

St Brigid's cover a range of key learning areas, taught by highly qualified, committed, enthusiastic and experienced staff who’s main aim is to cater to the needs of each individual student. Subjects available include a traditional core curriculum as well as a wide selection of creative subjects including visual arts, music, drama and dance. The school has a clear educational focus in the school's curriculum of which Jesus Christ is the foundation. Religious Education is taught to each year group.
