Our well-established Primary School is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic, creative and experienced Primary Travelling Teacher to start in September 2022.  

Applicants for the post will have up-to-date knowledge and be experienced practitioners.  The successful applicant will work across the Falkland Islands in several remote teaching and learning settings.  The successful candidate appointed to Travelling Teacher position will travel to different rural locations, live with families and teach pupils in their homes. Travelling teachers are supported by a dedicated and dynamic team and must be able to work effectively and autonomously. Applicants will have very good interpersonal skills that will enable them to integrate effectively with the families and pupils they will live and work alongside. 

Applicants for the posts should have experience across the primary range, and particularly within Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1.

This is a unique opportunity to live overseas whilst working within an English school system.  Our students are at the centre of all that we do as a school.

We are seeking to recruit a Primary Travelling Teacher who:

• is focused on helping children achieve high levels of progress in a happy and effective learning environment

• is a graduate with qualified teacher status (primary) who has completed their induction and preferably has at least 3 years' successful teaching experience

• is experienced across the primary age range, particularly EYFS and KS1

• can demonstrate a thorough recent knowledge of the 2014 English National Curriculum and the EYFS Statutory Framework

• is committed to differentiation and SEND inclusive practice 

• can effectively monitor, assess, record and report on pupils’ progress 

• can work within and contribute to coaching and mentoring environment

• has good interpersonal skills, is self-motivated and capable of working effectively and autonomously   

• possesses secure IT skills 

• is able to contribute to the development of extra curriculum opportunities

• has a sense of adventure

We will provide:

• A stimulating and supportive working environment with enthusiastic children who are keen to learn

• basic salary up to £40,502

• Eligibility for a 25% gratuity payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract

• Favourable income tax rates

• Airfare for post holder at the beginning and end of contract as well as return airfare after every subsequent full year of the contract for longer contracts

• retained accommodation in Stanley (daily rental)

• fixed term (unaccompanied) contracts of either 1, 2, 3 or 4 years in the first instance
