Inspiring Futures, Transforming Lives, Supporting Communities

The opportunity

Are you a motivated, innovative and inspirational leader with success in transforming the lives of others? Would you like to inspire future careers and support the wider communities of Edinburgh and the Lothians? We are looking for our next Principal and Chief Executive to continue the transformation we have achieved over the last few years. We want to make sure our college makes the very best of the opportunities in our region and that our change programmes are delivered well – to benefit our college community, our capital city and the wider economic region.

Our college

Edinburgh College is one of the largest colleges in the UK, serving a population of more than 680,000 people and providing more than 700 courses annually to 19,000 students. We employ around 1,250 people across four campuses and 30 outreach centres.

Our mission is to be a leading college providing excellent education through a quality curriculum. Our students will be enriched through their experience and achievements. The college will continue to support the region’s economic development and enhance its reputation as a valued partner.

Our approach

We strive to deliver a superb student experience, support and inspire our people, value our partnerships and enrich our communities, while transforming our college to be even more efficient and effective - ultimately providing an excellent curriculum for all who learn here. We work together to put students at the centre of all we do, while being responsible, respectful and trustworthy.

How can you help us?

Working with our ambitious senior management team, you will be used to solving complex problems and making a real impact. We're looking for an inspiring leader who is passionate about education to lead our Executive team. We want someone who will also inspire and support all staff to continue making our vision a reality.
