Job overview

Starting point is negotiable depending on experience

St. George’s is a growing primary Academy sponsored by the Church of England Diocese of Birmingham. At its last OFSTED it was rated as “good” with “outstanding” early years provision and the Governors are now seeking a driven, visionary Principal to lead us to ‘outstanding’ in all areas at next inspection. It is two years into expansion from a one-form entry primary school to a two-form entry, thereby offering the successful candidate valuable professional development. The Governors are seeking a Principal who will continue to develop high standards and the ethos of the academy.

The Academy’s mission statement:

St George's Church of England Academy endeavours to glorify God in developing the full human potential of each person connected with the school. We value people of all faiths and none and foster values of understanding, mutual respect and service. In collaboration with faith communities and other local schools we strive to improve social cohesion in a widely diverse area of our city.

We need an inspirational Principal who:

  • Is currently an effective senior manager in a primary school.
  • Is committed to working in a diverse community.
  • Is committed to providing a rich and creative curriculum inspiring children to want to learn.
  • Has the highest expectations of all pupils achievement and behaviour and will continue to raise standards across the academy.
  • Would embrace our Christian ethos.

We offer

  • A vibrant and culturally diverse school community.
  • A team of dedicated and hardworking professionals and support staff.
  • Positive relationships with parents and the wider community.
  • A school that celebrates its Christian values and has positive links with the Diocese of Birmingham and the local church.
