Birmingham Ormiston Academy (BOA) is one of the most successful state-funded, 14-19 academies in the country. We specialise in creative, digital and performing arts. Student results speak for themselves and are well above national average. Our intake is 100% selective, based on aptitude within the specialism rather than academic ability. As a result, we are unique in our admissions.
Located in the centre of Birmingham and within the hub of the digital and creative industries in the West Midlands, we benefit from superb facilities for academic, vocational and extra-curricular activities. We are part of the BOA Group, a trust which includes other subsidiaries including The Old Rep Theatre.
In March 2017, the Trust was given approval to open a second academy - BOA 2 focused on digital industries. With the current Principal of BOA, Gaynor Cheshire moving to an Executive Principal and CEO role and working across the Trust, we are now looking for an exceptional individual to lead BOA on the next stage of its journey.
You may be a Deputy aspiring to such a role, or an existing Principal/Headteacher. Either way, you will have a track record of successful leadership. You will be ambitious and student focused with a commitment ensuring the best possible academic outcomes for our young people. You will be passionate about the arts and understand how they release the potential in young people and raise aspiration. This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the country’s most successful vocational schools.
