The British International School Bratislava is a leading international school in Slovakia, offering exceptional education since 1997. With over 800 students’ The British International School Bratislava represents over 45 nationalities with approximately 65% European, 25% Asian/Pacific and 10% from other countries. We are the only school in Bratislava that teaches the English National Curriculum. We also deliver the internationally renowned Cambridge IGCSE and IBDP, and offer our local students Slovak lessons. This enables them to gain both an IBDP qualification and the Slovak Maturita. In 2025 the school achieved outstanding academic results with an average IB pass score of 36.3 and 64% achieving 35 points or higher.

WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
We’re seeking a visionary and strategic leader with a strong track record in school leadership, ideally within an international context. You’ll bring deep experience with the UK and/or IB curriculum and post-16 education, and a passion for inspiring high-performing teams. You understand how to balance educational excellence with commercial performance, and you’re confident using data to drive improvement and meet clear KPIs across academics, finance, marketing, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, global environment, contributing to the wider success of Nord Anglia Education while leading your school with clarity, purpose, and ambition.

The British International School Bratislava is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational all-through independent school with sixth form in Slovakia, serving students from the age of 2 -18. This all-through school is situated in Bratislava.
The British International School Bratislava opened in 1997 and welcomes students from over 42 nationalities every year. Students follow an international curriculum, studying towards IGCSE exams and later an International Baccalaureate Diploma. Facilities include a newly opened creative arts centre, a gym, a theatre, science laboratories, outdoor play areas and sports courts. Pupils are taught in English and offered Slovak language lessons.

The British International School Bratislava wants all students to fulfil their potential in a nurturing and stimulating international learning environment. Healthy eating is important to the school and all students are served nutritious and balanced meals. Students are given the opportunity to get involved in extra-curricular clubs and activities to help develop their confidence, socialise with new friends outside their classroom and further their skills and talents. These include sports clubs and teams, music lessons, drama class, art lessons and a wide range of trips and expeditions.
