Job overview

Following the announcement of the retirement of the current Principal, Shooters Hill Sixth Form College’s Board of Trustees are seeking to appoint an inspirational senior executive leader to continue to develop, grow and lead our thriving college on its journey to outstanding.

Shooters Hill Sixth Form College is a 16 -19 institution located in the Royal Borough of Greenwich. We are constituted as an Academy but inspected under the Education Inspection Framework for Further Education and Skills.  We provide an enriched and inclusive learning experience for the diverse community we serve. We are a proud provider of high-quality standards of education and training to improve the life chances of our young people in the local community in which we serve. Rated as ‘Good’ by Ofsted in September 2019, inspectors found “Senior leaders have a coherent strategy for courses that are suited to the students who come to the college. They have put in place a curriculum that meets the diverse needs of their students.”

We are looking to appoint an inspirational strategic senior leader with a successful track record of leading improvement strategies in an educational environment. Experience of successfully managing organisational change, including oversight of multi-million-pound budgets and resources with strong business acumen is essential.

If you are looking to take the next step of your own journey and use your proven track record of success, excellent communication skills and leadership qualities to secure sustainable and deep-rooted improvements and if equality, diversity and inclusivity lies at the heart of all you do, then this college could be the place for you. The successful candidate will develop and maintain key relationships with internal & external stakeholders, maximising opportunities for creative collaboration across local networks.

It is essential that the candidate has a degree, teaching qualification, QTS / QTLS and is an outstanding leader. If you hold a NPQH qualification or FE equivalent SFCA this will give you a competitive advantage. You will keep abreast of developments across the sector as a matter of course.

We need you to inspire others, work collaboratively with the highly experienced senior leadership team, dedicated staff and our enthusiastic and committed trustees and board of governors to ensure the continued success of the college, leading the college on its journey towards ‘Outstanding’.

If you possess these attributes and you are looking for a new opportunity, then we look forward to receiving your application.
