Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to influence community education in an area of East Oxford by developing one of the early Free Schools to provide a new model of education suitable for life in modern Britain.

Tyndale Community School opened in 2013, in the context of a widely recognised need for a new and outstanding Primary School in the city of Oxford. The School is part of a Multi-Academy Trust, Chapel St Community School Trust. When TCS opened, it was the trust’s second School, but the trust now runs seven schools and has plans for further expansion.

The founding Principal has taken the School from conception through to its first Ofsted inspection, at which it was rated ‘Good’. The opportunity now exists for an outstanding School leader to take the School forward through growth to complete KS1 and KS2, to develop an outstanding practice.

The Principal at Tyndale Community School (TCS) will work with our visionary organisation to lead a committed team in the further development of this new community School serving the children, families and residents of East Oxford. The Principal will implement the vision and strategy for Tyndale Community School as outlined by Chapel St and work with a wide range of local partners, realising the prescribed targets for educational attainment and personal development, ensuring effective personalised pathways to future education, and providing holistic support for families.

The Principal will become a recognised leader serving the community, drawing together stakeholders from the private, public, voluntary and faith-based sectors to contribute to the life of the school and enabling Tyndale Community School to become a hub of community learning and regeneration.

The Principal is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the Tyndale Community School vision and strategy, including the curriculum, School environment, and the operational and fiscal health of the school.
