The Board of Governors of Lumen Christi College invites applications for the post of

Principal

Lumen Christi College is a Catholic, co-educational grammar school ranked consistently among the top academic schools in the country.

The Board of Governors seeks to appoint an innovative, dynamic and child-centred individual who will be inspirational in motivating and developing students and staff in an atmosphere where everyone is valued. The successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate commitment to promoting the Catholic and academic ethos of the college as well as possess outstanding leadership skills in taking forward the vision and aims of the college’s foundation governors to promote the highest standards of pastoral care and academic attainment for the college’s 840 students.

Essential criteria:

On commencement of appointment (1st January 2024) applicants must have an Honours degree and be a qualified teacher (registered with GTCNI) with a minimum of ten years’ teaching experience in the last thirteen in a post-primary school and have proven experience of:

• Senior Leadership (with at least four Teaching Allowances) for a minimum of five years in the last eight, in a school with a Sixth Form
• Leading, developing, implementing and evaluating whole school curriculum planning / pastoral care arrangements
• Effective School Development Planning
• Managing people and resources and leading staff development

Desirable Criteria:

In addition to the above, preference may be given to applicants who, at commencement of

appointment:

• Are serving Principals or Vice-Principals in a school with a Sixth Form and an enrolment of at least 600 pupils
• Holds a Masters Degree in Education / Management (or equivalent)
• Have successfully completed the Professional Qualification for Headship (N.I.) or equivalent
