Be part of an exciting, amazing new Academy in Rugby for children and young people with autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.

In September 2017, MacIntyre Academies Trust will be opening a new and exciting school in Rugby, Warwickshire. Quest Academy will ultimately cater for 80 children and young people with Autism and social, emotional and mental health needs aged between 9 years and 19 years.

MacIntyre Academies Trust opened a new Academy in Nuneaton, Warwickshire in September 2015 called ‘Discovery Academy’. Due to high demand for this type of school MacIntyre Academy Trust made a successful Free School application to open a “sister school” in Rugby.

The two Warwickshire Academies join the existing ‘Endeavour Academy’ in Oxford that opened in 2014. MacIntyre Academies Trust are currently Recruiting for a Principal (Designate) to join their leadership team.

The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic, hard working school leader who shares the Trust’s commitment to providing personalised education programmes that place each child at the centre of their learning programme.

This role will suit an experienced school leader who will relish the opportunity to create something special and lead an exciting project. The role will demand an individual who is capable of leading and inspiring others to develop a new school from scratch and make the vision a reality. This will include working with the trust board and Local Advisory Board and leading the design of the curriculum, the recruitment of children for the school, recruitment of a new senior leadership team and ultimately all staff.

You will have experience of school leadership, at a Headteacher or Deputy Headteacher level; ideally in a special school and have a DfE recognised teaching qualification and The National Professional Qualification for Headship (NPQH) or other relevant post-graduate qualification. It is also desirable for the post holder to be able to drive and have access to their own transport.
