Job overview

The Board of Governors of the British School of Quito is looking for an exceptional School Principal to lead and inspire the school in the next stage of its development.

BSQ is a 21 year old 3 to 18 school with a capacity of 460 students and ambitious plans for expansion.  It is an IB World School offering Cambridge iGCSE as well as IB Diploma, jointly accredited by the Council of International Schools (CIS) and New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). With over 25 different nationalities in its student body, BSQ is Ecuador's only truly British school.  With a UK-trained teaching body, it enjoys an outstanding reputation and strong support from the British-Ecuadorian business and diplomatic communities.  Academic standards are high with many graduates going on to study in the world’s top universities.

BSQ is located in the beautiful Cumbaya valley to the East of Quito, approximately 20 minutes from the airport.  The campus boasts excellent facilities in a beautiful natural setting with rich local flora and fauna – humming birds are daily visitors to most areas.  Plans are currently at an advanced stage to add significant capacity to grow the school and the new Principal is required to lead on all educational and operational aspects of this development.

BSQ is part of the Orbital Education Group of schools which owns and operates a network of schools in East Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and Latin America.  Orbital Education supervises and supports all of its schools from its UK head office, also providing opportunities for collaboration between schools and staff development and progression within the network.
