About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Djarragun College for their new Campus Principal.

The present College Principal, Dr Michael Barton, is moving to a new role as Executive Principal of Djarragun College Ltd, leading the campus principals across the College network.

Ideally  the new Campus Principal will commence at the beginning of Term 4, 2021 or earlier, although we recognise that the successful applicant will need to give due notice to their current employer.

The role of Campus Principal at Djarragun College demands active and effective leadership of the College and all staff, comprehensive administrative management through delegation and team leadership, and a close association with the Executive Principal.

The Campus Principal must be an exemplary role model for the students of the College, and will be active in supporting and empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voice in the leadership of the campus.

The Principal of Djarragun College will need to enjoy living in the tropical north of Queensland and be able to balance the responsibilities of College leadership with that of being a family member, and a community member and leader. A willingness to participate in the life of the local and wider community is crucial to the role.

Applicants are encouraged to visit the area to better understand the local environment.
