Skinners’ Academy Hackney is a successful community school for boys and girls aged 11 to 19, providing transformative education in one of London’s most diverse communities. We opened in 2010 as a stand-alone academy and are proud to be supported by the Skinners’ Company, one of the oldest Livery Companies in the City of London.

Our vision is for every pupil to be the best they can be.

We seek an inspirational Principal who will share Skinners’ Academy’s ambition to become an outstanding school. Our successful candidate will possess the vision, strategic leadership and educational experience to empower our Academy to achieve this goal. S/he will have a proven record of successful school leadership gained as a Principal or Vice Principal, with particular strengths in leading a school to excellent outcomes in teaching and learning. S/he will bring knowledge of what is defining the best schools nationally with direct experience of diverse and challenging settings. They will have strong interpersonal and influencing skills and be committed to developing all colleagues in their roles.

Above all, a passionate, authentic commitment to providing consistent, high quality, inclusive teaching and learning alongside strong pastoral care and support and a belief in the power of education to promote social mobility and address disadvantage are essential.
