Job overview

Established in 2013 as a Sixth Form Converter Academy School, Haringey Sixth Form College is about to embark upon an extremely exciting stage in its development. Following a recent good Ofsted inspection and a strategic review, we have a clear vision to become the first choice for high achieving A Levels in and beyond our local area.

We are in collaborative partnership with the College of Haringey Enfield and North East London through a shared services model, in particular for financial strengthening, with an additional partner coming on board to help drive forward our academic excellence. Our Trust is reforming to enhance governance capacity. This will provide a solid foundation for achieving an outstanding Ofsted rating in our next inspection, while increasing our financial sustainability and offering enhanced opportunities for our current and future students.

Our ambition, vision and journey so far make this a superb opportunity for an inspirational Principal to steer a college to new heights and impact positively on our surrounding communities. Leading a culture of aspiration and commitment to excellence, our new Principal will implement a clear vision for strong student outcomes and ongoing improvements in quality. An effective networker, you will play a key ambassadorial role with schools, parents and other stakeholders, ensuring that enrolment targets are met and that the college has a great external profile. Internally, you will lead and inspire our staff to ensure the academy becomes a centre of excellence in post 16 A levels, vocational and SEN offer.

Our successful candidate should demonstrate a successful track record as a senior leader within a post-16 education environment, with a background in teaching and learning and in-depth knowledge of 16-19 provision. Evidence of raising academic standards and ensuring a high quality offer, particularly in relation to A levels, is of key importance, as is the ability to inspire and motivate students, staff and external stakeholders.

Haringey Sixth Form College is an equal opportunities employer. We are committed to the safeguarding of children and young people in our recruitment procedures and in all our work. Employment in any position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
