Job overview

2021 will be an exciting and challenging year at The Cambian Group. Part of the CareTech Family of Companies, we are one of the largest providers of specialist Education and Care services for children and young people in the UK, delivering across Special Education Schools and Colleges, Residential Care Homes and a Therapeutic Fostering Service.

We are embarking on a significant period of transformation in line with our ambitious plans and, at the absolute core of our business, is our commitment to supporting our amazing children and young people, each with their own needs, hopes and dreams to reach their personal best.

Our teams are fully committed to Cambian’s goals. They understand the challenges and rewards of working with our young people and know that every day they will achieve things that really matter.

This an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic and forward-thinking team, leading the change and reinvigoration of Cambian Dilston College. Cambian Dilston College has a proud and successful tradition of supporting young people between the ages of 16 - 25 to build valuable life skills, qualification and confidence to support them on their journey towards future independence.

Cambian Dilston College consists of our main college building, containing five apartments, and four cottages within the grounds of our 9-acre rural campus located in Dilston, Northumberland.

The College currently caters for up to 60 young people and adults between the ages of 16 - 25 years that have autism, additional learning needs and associated complex behaviours that may challenge. However, we have the capacity to build upon this over the coming months as student referrals increase.

The College prides itself on offering meaningful packages of care, education and clinical services to those who have in the past struggled to access conventional settings; offering each young person and adult an individually tailored and holistic programme of support, equipping them to face the challenges of later life.

Joining Dilston College, you will find committed, career focused and positive teams delivering rich and innovative experiences, playing to each young person’s strengths, to prepare them for their lives ahead. Close community ties and inclusion underpin these opportunities in and around the local area helping our young people to use their life skills and to support the development of positive relationships.

We are looking for an outstanding leader who can demonstrate a proven successful track record, comprehensive understanding of both the Education and Care setting for SEN, and the drive to develop positive and engaging relationships with all the key stakeholders working closely with our teams.

You will be an expert in your field, bringing the best in classroom experience alongside a clear vision and understanding of the link between leadership and true impact.

You will have a real eye for detail – knowing that our absolute commitment to the Safeguarding of our children and young people is our top priority. You will be able to demonstrate a detailed and insightful understanding of the regulatory environment that we operate in and the demands that this places on all aspects of our work.

Bringing our plans for Dilston College to life will be challenging and intense but, with enthusiasm, creativity and a hands on approach, the reward and satisfaction will be second to none. You will have a unique opportunity to shape and deliver the long-term strategy for the College and our drive to transform the lives of our young people.

If you feel that this fantastic opportunity would be the next career step that you are looking for, please apply below or send an expression of interest and details to marie.stewart@cambiangroup.com

Any successful application to this role will be subject to Enhanced DBS and reference checking, in line with Government regulations and Safer Recruitment best practice.
