Job overview

Within our secondary academy structure we have an Executive Principal who is responsible for all secondary education in our Trust. This role will report directly into the Executive Principal.

It is an excellent career opportunity for a driven and ambitious leader to make the move into Principalship. It provides all the challenge and operational content of a ‘traditional’ Headteacher role, with the added bonus of an experienced and successful Executive Principal supporting the strategic direction and providing coaching and guidance.

This is your opportunity to directly impact on the lives of local children by ensuring that day-in, dayout they receive the very highest standards of teaching and learning, have varied life experiences and are nurtured in a safe and positive educational environment. As Academy Principal you will be responsible for the achievement and progress of all the children within your academy – and the staff!

As a Trust, a key focus is on developing and retaining exceptional teachers and supporters, quite simply because our children deserve no less – you will be working in an incredibly supportive environment.

About Colne Primet Academy

Since our transformation to an Academy in January 2013, we have been working hard to develop a vision that will see Colne Primet Academy as a key part in the educational journey of young people in Pendle and East Lancashire.

As part of the Pendle Education Trust, a multi academy trust led by Nelson and Colne College, we are confident in our plans to provide the very best education. With the help and assistance of our local outstanding college, we know that we are well on our way to becoming an outstanding school ourselves.

Primet holds an important place in the hearts of many in East Lancashire. Countless young people have received a strong experienced education at the school that has allowed them to progress to fantastic careers and also ensured that they do so as happy, well-adjusted adults.

Colne Primet Academy offers young people a unique balance of academic challenge and personal support, alongside a wealth of opportunities. We aim to make a difference; to develop an awareness and respect for spiritual and moral values, so that students, in turn, can enrich the lives of others. We want our students to leave with the values, knowledge and skills to lead a full and fulfilling life.
