PRINCIPAL, INTERNATIONAL COLLEGE SPAIN

Nord Anglia Education has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an outstanding, internationally-experienced leader in education to drive the ongoing success of its highly regarded international school in Madrid, International College Spain.

THE SCHOOL

International College Spain is an international community school that is committed to providing every child with all they need to be successful in the future. The school was founded in 1980 by the late entrepreneur and philanthropist, Manouchehr Farhangi, and has grown to become one of the leading international IB Continuum schools in Europe.

One of the first schools in the world to provide all three IB programmes, our staff have a wealth of IB experience and knowledge leading not only to outstanding academic results but also to producing students who make a difference in the world. For the past two years we have achieved a 100% IB Diploma pass rate with an average points score of 35 points. This has placed us in the top rankings for high standards, and amongst the top 2 percent of schools in the world for IB success rates.

Today, our school is home to approximately 1,000 students. We’re proud to be a caring, truly international community, with children, families, and staff hailing from more than 70 countries worldwide. Flexible yet academically rigorous, our IB curriculum is packed with innovative global learning opportunities, like our trailblazing collaborations with The Juilliard School, UNICEF, and MIT.

WHY LEAD WITH NORD ANGLIA?

At Nord Anglia, the Principal is central to each school’s success. We carefully match leaders to the unique character and needs of each school, ensuring you’re set up to thrive. You’ll have the autonomy to lead your school your way, while operating within a clear framework of expectations that drive excellence across student outcomes, financial performance, marketing, and stakeholder engagement.

This transparency of purpose is a strength: you’ll know exactly what success looks like and be supported to achieve it. You’ll be part of our global senior leadership team, collaborating with fellow Principals in your region and across our network to share best practice and elevate your school’s offer.

From day one, you’ll benefit from:

  • Regional support teams and peer networks.
  • The Principal In Role Support (PIRS) programme, including knowledge and support alongside other new Principals. executive coaching and peer to peer mentoring.
  • Extensive professional development via Nord Anglia University, including leadership programmes, global conferences, and tailored learning pathways.
  • Competitive salary, performance-based bonuses, health insurance, accommodation, and schooling for your children.
  • The possibility of career progression across school, regional and global leadership roles.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re seeking a visionary and strategic leader with a strong track record in school leadership, ideally within an international context. You’ll ideally bring deep experience with the IB and a passion for inspiring high-performing teams. You will understand how to balance educational excellence with commercial performance, and be confident using data to drive improvement and meet clear KPIs across academics, finance, marketing, and stakeholder engagement. You’ll thrive in a collaborative, global environment, contributing to the wider success of Nord Anglia Education while leading your school with clarity, purpose, and ambition.
