Kinabalu International School is seeking an internationally experienced and enthusiastic Principal who can lead the school with drive, energy, vision and dedication. The Principal, supported by the Senior Management Team, is responsible for the academic leadership and day to day management of the school. He/she has full accountability for the school’s successful financial and operational management. The successful candidate will be responsible for further developing the standards of teaching and learning in line with 21st century best practice.

Kinabalu International School is located in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia and has gained an excellent reputation for delivering a high quality education over the last 44 years. The school is proud of its friendly, warm and nurturing community, where the student is at the heart of everything we do. The school delivers a rigorous academic education for students aged 3 to 18, based on the English National Curriculum and the Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level programmes. With over 450 students from more than 30 nations, the school strives to challenge its students as individuals to achieve their potential.

The new Principal will continue to lead the journey to excellence in academic achievement and the development of successful well-rounded global citizens, by working closely with students, teachers and parents. In addition, they will have significant experience of working in schools where a large proportion of students have English as an Additional Language.

The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, with the ability to motivate, inspire and unite the KIS community, and be dedicated to developing a love of learning in all students. The post offers a unique opportunity to live and work in the amazing natural and cultural environment of Malaysian Borneo, in a friendly and accessible city recognised for its low cost of living and high quality of life.
