About the Position:    

School Principal (for September 2016)

We are looking to hire a Principal who is a dynamic, forward- looking,
enthusiastic and inspiring Education Leader.

PRINCIPAL

ROLE DESCRIPTION

  1. The Principal has ultimate responsibility for the development and
    implementation of the school strategic policies and plans
  2. The Principal identifies and develops the objectives of the instructional,
    extracurricular programs of the school
  3. The Principal is accountable to COO/Board of Governors for delivering
    the highest standards of education and student well-being.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

The School Principal shall be :

  1. An Instructional Leader who ensures quality and highest standards of
    education
  2. A Human Resource Leader who offers support, advice, inspiration and
    guidance to all staff.
  3. A Leader who manages the school institution by constantly reviewing and
    implementing school policies in order to achieve the highest stanards.
  4. A Professional Leader who promotes the professional development an
    academic growth of staff.
  5. A Leader who communicates and harnesses the support of parents and
    community for the betterment of the school
  6. A Leader who is able to develop the students with global outlook and
    Godly character.

THE PERSONAL SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • A dynamic and inspirational leader.
  • A role model and an enthusiast
  • A noble and passionate educator.

KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • First Degree, supported by a recognised certificate/diploma in education.
  • A Master’s Degree, MBA, NPQH, or other higher qualification (desirable).
  • Good practical and personal knowledge of schools, education systems,
    qualifications and assessment practices, innovations in curriculum and teaching practice and educational leadership.
  • An understanding of the importance of the culture and ethos of a school in securing high standards.

EXPERIENCE

  • Successful experience as a school leader in a relevant or similar setting.
  • Familiarity with school quality assurance and accreditation.
  • To have previously worked in an international school.
  • To have previously worked in Asia (desirable).

Principal Job Benefits:

The new Principal will be expected to take up post in September 2016. A salary commensurate with the importance of the post and experience of the
successful candidate will be offered. We provide Relocation Allowance,
Housing Allowance, transportation allowance, Health Insurance for the Principal
are included in the package.

About Woodlands International School

 Woodlands International School is based in Sibu, Malaysia, teaching students from Early Years to Secondary level. The school teaches the Cambridge IGCSE and International AS. Younger learners are also taught using the International Primary Curriculum. The eagle on the school’s badge is representative of spiritual strength and tenacity. The school’s motto is ‘together we shine’. Students are taught in English. Sporting facilities on campus include basketball courts, activity-park and swimming pool. WinS was built in 2013 as the first international school in Sibu. The city of Sibu is located in the central Malaysian region of Sarawak. It has a population of 163,000, and is known for events such as the Borneo Cultural Festival.
