Job overview

Responsible to: OAT Regional Director

We are recruiting for exceptional talent for Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy, a small Primary community school in Great Yarmouth. The academy has been part of Ormiston Academies Trust since March 2017.

Edward Worlledge is a happy thriving school that shares a sense of community and togetherness. We believe education is wide and far-reaching and that enrichment outside the classroom is crucial to our core beliefs. This Enrichment programme has been praised by Ofsted and we encourage pupils to make the most of every chance they have to see the wider picture of life.

The academy is a totally inclusive school with high levels of SEND and Pupil Premium pupils.  We have an outstanding reputation for meeting pupil needs, be it learning or behaviour with our motto of “Be Bold, Be Wise, Be Curious, Be Kind.

We are undergoing a building programme currently with the support of Ormiston Academies Trust and this new build will be completed in the summer of 2018. When this build is finished there will be room to offer appropriate free -flow and play space for our pupils, having changed from a junior school to an all-through primary over the last 4 years.

The academy’s sponsor, Ormiston Academies Trust, one of the founding trusts of the academies movement, is seeking the country’s best leaders to join our team. The educational landscape has dramatically changed, but our core mission remains the same: To prepare our young people to be the leaders of tomorrow.  In order to achieve this, we need to recruit more of the best leaders of today.
We know that educational leadership is not for the faint of heart, and we actively promote a ‘no excuses’ culture. If your unrelenting passion for students’ success drives you to achieve, you understand our mission and we want to talk to you.

You:

  • Have incredibly high expectations for yourself and others
  • Accept that only the best is good enough
  • Believe that all children can achieve
  • Are excited by being part of a dynamic team

We offer a competitive pay and package including:

Private healthcare for self and family

Annual Performance related bonus of up to 10% of base salary

Unparalleled CPD opportunities, both at individual academy and across the OAT family

Exposure to leading edge SI practices and professionals and the chance to make a bigger difference with a fantastic family of principals and staff.

You will have access to excellent professional networks and support and OAT will actively encourage and support your professional development by providing opportunities to work across the Trust. If you are an experienced senior leader in a primary setting, with a successful track record of sustained improvement and a determination to maximise the opportunities available then this role offers an excellent opportunity to challenge yourself in a new environment.
Applicants must be highly motivated, driven and committed to high quality teaching and learning. They should have the creativity and vision to inspire and lead change but also the focus to ensure successful outcomes are reached. You must be confident and positive with a ‘can-do’ attitude that can inspire and engage students, staff and the local community. You must display compassion and be familiar with holding staff accountable whilst being accountable yourself. Above all, you will share our passion and belief that children, their learning and developing their potential is at the heart of all decisions.
