Norfolk Academies Trust is seeking an ambitious, inspirational and confident leader. We are proud of Fakenham Academy: of our students, our learning and teaching staff and our community. We are aiming to appoint a strong leader with a clear vision who will work with us to lead us through the next phase of our journey to outstanding. Our new Principal will be dynamic: a high achiever, who has a proven track-record of translating vision into action, whilst always keeping the learner at the heart of decision-making. You will be ambitious, both for yourself, our learning and teaching staff and our students.

Fakenham Academy has over 750 students with a thriving Sixth Form, and is currently rated Good by Ofsted, with improvements in results over the last 4 years delivered through its membership of Norfolk Academies Trust. Fakenham Academy students achieve well and above national averages in almost all measures. Teaching staff are particularly proud of their achievements in GCSE and A Level results but realise that there is a lot of work to be done to achieve outstanding.

Norfolk Academies, part of the TEN Group, is a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) and a company limited by guarantee responsible for all academies within the TEN Group. At present, there are four academies within the Norfolk Academies Trust MAT: Fakenham Academy Norfolk, Attleborough Academy Norfolk, Wayland Academy Norfolk and Wayland Junior Academy Watton. The successful applicant will have an opportunity to help shape the future of Norfolk Academies Trust.

Values and Vision

Fakenham Academy strives to keep stretching and improving students’ educational outcomes, creating a highly successful learning environment that helps children to gain a quality education and receive the best life chances possible. The secondary school's main aim is “to be completely and utterly outstanding in everything that we do”.

Fakenham Academy sets high expectations for students. It is an institution that values care and support, nurtures individuality, inspires its students, focuses on collaboration, looks for different ways to innovate in education, and ultimately achieves results of excellence.

Ofsted Report

“Achievement at GCSE is improving strongly, particularly in English and Science, where teachers explain assessment tasks very clearly and all students, including disadvantaged students, make good progress in lessons. Teaching and learning are good and improving well because staff have well-planned opportunities to develop their teaching expertise and they set demanding targets for students’ achievement. The principal has ensured that new teachers and managers are held to account for students’ achievement through regular monitoring and performance review.”
